Katja Davar’s primary focus is drawing. We wanted to use her mark making as a focus. The layout and graphic devices were inspired by her own personal notes and preliminary sketches.

The title of the exhibition and her desire for a “gestural and unfinished” feel to the catalogue reveals itself in how it is physically experienced in the gallery space. Each section sits on a stand by the relevant art work and is collected as the visitor takes their chosen route around the space. These are then placed into a paper wraparound that is picked up at the entrance. Each section also contains a different interview on the back.

A collaborative project with Emilie Loiseleur and Sally Finnigan
